How the Spirit of Life Charitable Foundation Awards Are Made

Overview

The Foundation's Advisory Board solicits and reviews applications from institutions of higher learning. The Advisory Board then instructs the Trustee to make annual awards to the selected institutions. These scholarships are known as the Spirit of Life Charitable Foundation Scholarships for International Studies. The awards will continue to be made to the selected institutions on an annual basis as long as the institutions continue to comply with the awarding policies of the Foundation. Each institution is responsible for selecting the student to receive the scholarship funds provided to their institution, for distribution of the scholarship funds and for ensuring that the student’s final report is completed and sent to the Advisory Board.

Supported Institutions

Annual awards are presently being made as follows: one to the Penn State College of Medicine for the Global Health Scholars program; one to Frontier Community College and two to Harvard Medical School where one supports students in the medical student International Scholars Program and one supports graduate students doing international studies.
